Total Lunar Eclipse Thread - Sep 7-8, 2025

Please use this thread to share photos. If you have an Instagram handle, mention it as well and we will credit you while resharing.

It’s been a while since I posted here! This is the first time, I had the chance to photograph the lunar eclipse. I used my Nikon D5300 DSLR with a 300mm lens on a tripod along with an intervalometer.
The clouds played a major role throughout the night, making it quite a challenge to focus on the Moon. Still, it was a wonderful experience to capture the event.
Also, a big thanks to everyone who constantly shared their progress updates throughout the event. Seeing all your posts truly boosted my enthusiasm and kept me going despite the clouds.
Open to any feedback, and once again, hats off to this group for the amazing work and collaboration!

A special mention to Akash, who joined me in this observation session—always great to share these celestial moments!

Posting after a long time!

I captured this total lunar eclipse using my Orion XT8 Dobsonian telescope paired with a Sony Alpha 99 DSLR, connected through a T-ring and 2x Barlow lens. I photographed different phases of the Moon, then stitched them together with Microsoft ICE and arranged the collage in PowerPoint.

For the full Blood Moon frame in the collage, I switched to my iPhone 15 with a 20 mm eyepiece attached.

These are some of the images I got with my phone at the eyepiece..
During the red moon it was cloudy and the phone could see almost nothing . I did see it though :slightly_smiling_face:
