Last night the sky was cloudy, and it was raining for most of the evening. Just when I thought I wouldn’t get a chance to observe anything, the clouds finally parted for about an hour, giving me a brief but wonderful window to look up at the night sky and make a few sketches.
I managed to sketch three bright stars, Vega, Schedar (Alpha Cassiopeiae) and Altair. I used pencil on an observation sheet. Inverted the image in Snapseed App.
- Vega (Lyra was a little too large to fit entirely within the field of view of my 8×40 binoculars, but I still managed to sketch the whole constellation.)
- Schedar (Alpha Cassiopeiae)
- Altair
I’d love to hear your thoughts, suggestions, and tips for improving my astronomical sketches.
Clear skies, everyone!
