25 of us participated in October month’s star party on 2026-10-10T11:30:00Z
We kept the group small as we explored a new venue with much darker skies than our usual spots.
The skies were very good till about midnight and we hunted some very beautiful objects. We started off with some nebulae and clusters in the Sagittarius/Scorpius region before proceeding to the highlights of the night:
- The Triangulum Galaxy - visible in the finderscope
- Both the Eastern and Western Veil Nebulae - visible with a 8 inch telescope without any filters, we saw amazing views with an OIII filter on Anupam’s 12 inch dobsonian.
- Sculptor Galaxy
- NGC7331 and the supernova that’s currently visible near its core
- Ring and Dumbbell Nebulae - we had some real close-ups of these
- Saturn at 375x!
- Jupiter
- Uranus with naked eyes
- Neptune
- plenty of other DSOs like nebulae and clusters
