New to astronomy — need help buying Nikon Aculon A211 10x50 + a good tripod

Hi all,

I’m looking to buy the Nikon Aculon A211 10x50 Binoculars for stargazing/astronomy use. Could someone let me know the best place to buy it from (reliable seller/store), and confirm if it’s okay for me to go ahead with the purchase?

Also, could you suggest a good tripod/tripod adapter to pair with it for steady night-sky viewing?

Many people in the club use this model. I’ve seen through them and it’s quite good for the price. Choose a tripod that’s light and stable as you need to be able to carry it around. It also needs to be tall enough for you to observe comfortably. You can find generic adaptors for this on Amazon.

Another option is to get a monopod and an easy chair. You can lean back and use the monopod to position the bino. This is often more comfortable for long observations. As a step up, you can also make a parallelogram mount.

hi. It is a good choice beginner astronomy binoculars. i have been using this for the last 9 years. i got it in amazon at that time.

it seems it is not available anywhere ? discontinued

may be you can try nikon action series- which is similar and slightly better.

You can also consider Olympus Binocular 10x50 S which is of the same price range. The quality is good and well built. It has been put to rugged use, especially for wildlife & no major collimation issue is observed during Night sky watch.
