Hi everyone!
I did this sketch yesterday and thought I’d share it. It’s Mare Crisium.
The hardest part was getting the crater rims to pop without making the mare floor look too busy. I’m still figuring out how to get a wider range of tones out of white charcoal.
Equipment: 90/800 Reflector
Eyepiece: 10mm + 3X Barlow
Medium: White Charcoal on black paper.
Location: Chennai, India.
Observation Date: 28th Oct 2026
One note: I bumped up the contrast in Adobe Express, so the photo looks a bit punchier than the actual drawing. The paper is less stark in person.
