This is Arun. I am a Chennai based software engineer and Entrepreneur very interested in Physics and especially Astronomy. I enjoy reading about history of physics and cosmos. I am excited to join this group with like minded people. In addition to observing the heavens, I am very interested in recreating experiments that helped ancients measure the size of the Earth, the Moon, the Sun and the distances between them. Looking forward to meeting everyone in a star party or a workshop and to a long lasting association.

Welcome Arun. You are in the correct place. That’s a beautiful idea to recreate some of the age old experiments to measure the heavens. Every though most of our members are based in and around Chennai, there’s a few who are in different parts of the world. I’d also be interested in these experiments and we can try conducting them exactly the same way from various parts of the world if others are also interested and collate the results to see how they turn up.
