Took this image of Eta Carinae from my home in Chennai yesterday.

Equipment Used:

  • William Optics Z81 with Flat 6AIII 0.8x reducer
  • SkyWatcher HEQ5 Pro
  • Canon 700d unmodified
  • Optolong l-enhance dual narrowband filter

EXIF

  • ISO 800
  • 180 x 30s light frames
  • 20 dark frames
  • No flats

One thing I experienced was that if I increased the exposure length, the light pollution near the horizon was too visible in the image. I had to use shorter exposure lengths and bump up the ISO due to that. I guess if you try with short exposures(which is what you can do without a tracker anyway) and a reasonable ISO, you will be able to capture this. Just take many short exposures and stack them.
