North Chennai is not good for looking for meteor showers as the bright harbour lights and city lights do not let us to see dim meteors. You can see much better from here in South Chennai like Velachery, Perungudi, Taramani, Medavakkam, Perungulathur and other areas of South Chennai. Chembarabakkam near Poonamalle might be the area with little light pollution in Chennai. It is near the Chennai Outer ring

How about Manapakkam, Mugalivakkam which near Porur. I hardly see any stars in the sky in my area.
